Japan NSS Sec Gen Shigeru Kitamura Meets PM Modi, will Meet NSA Ajit Doval Next

Modi welcomed Kitamura on his first visit to India after assuming charge in September this year, and stressed the importance of the growing strategic partnership between the two countries for peace, progress and security in the region.

New Delhi: Shigeru Kitamura, Secretary General of National Security Secretariat (NSS) of Japan called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday.

Modi welcomed Kitamura on his first visit to India after assuming charge in September this year, and stressed the importance of the growing strategic partnership between the two countries for peace, progress and security in the region.

The PM expressed confidence that the discussions of Kitamura with the National Security Advisor (NSA) of India, Ajit Doval, would pave the way to strengthen this vital aspect of bilateral cooperation.

Modi recalled his friendship with Prime Minister Abe and conveyed that he looked forward to welcoming him in India for the India-Japan Annual Summit next month.
