According to sources, Pakistan’s move was backed by Turkey as part of Ankara’s strategy to oppose Saudi-UAE dominance in the OIC. However, Malaysia which had earlier joined ranks with Turkey and formed an alliance of sorts to oppose the traditional influence of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the OIC did not back Pakistan with same vigour as in the past.
Nepal is being ruled by a relatively upstart political party, the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), which turned two over last weekend. An intelligence report claims Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has joined hands with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in an attempt to repeat an attack similar to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Dawood Ibrahim was spotted in Islamabad at his farmhouse on Sunday, the news report said quoting top intelligence sources. Dawood’s farmhouse is next to Pakistan’s former President Pervez Musharraf’s residence.
Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed plans to carry out simultaneous terrorist strikes in Jammu and Kashmir on May 11, according to an intelligence alert issued to security forces in the Union Territory.
