By the middle of next year, the Modi government would have direct connectivity with over 11.5 crore farmers and their families across India, making it a communication exercise hitherto unprecedented in scale.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, the appointed day for the two UTs is October 31 and these will come into existence in the midnight (Wednesday-Thursday), nearly three months after the announcement in Rajya Sabha.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the proposal of payment of all 7th CPC allowances to the Government employees of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh, which shall come into existence from October 31, an official statement said.

The share of military equipment in Turkey-bound defence exports is minimum, but dual-use items like detonating cord, safety fuses and explosives used in construction and mining claim a larger part of the trade pie.
“Government of India has been receiving queries from Indian nationals on travelling to Turkey in view of the situation in the region. Although there have been no reports of untoward incidents in the country so far involving Indian nationals, travellers are requested to exercise utmost caution while travelling to Turkey,” the Indian Embassy in Ankara tweeted.
The e-portal and the channel will be inaugurated at an event — “Digital Bharat – Digital Sanskriti” at the CCRT headquarters here.
“With an aim to take India to a newer digital pinnacle and to promote our culture, the Union Minister will inaugurate CCRT e-portal and YouTube Channel (with support from Routes 2 Routes),” a press release said.
The agencies have also named Yasin Malik as one of the accused in this case. Mallik is currently lodged at the Tihar jail.
