Kuno Becomes India’s Second Home for the Asiatic Lion

After more than two decades of roadblocks, the Kuno Palpur wildlife sanctuary is ready as the new home for Asiatic lions, starting with those that are to be relocated from Gujarat’s Gir sanctuary, currently the only home of the Asiatic lions in India. In a recent visit over two days, Mongabay-India witnessed the revamped sanctuary.

The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019, seeks to provide a mechanism for social, economic and educational empowerment of transgenders and was moved for consideration and passage in the Rajya Sabha by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot on November 20.

85 Stolen Idols to be Brought Back to India

Close to 85 idols of the 2,622 idols seized from art smuggler Subhash Kapoor, with a combined value of USD 107 million during the 2012 raid, will be brought back to India in March 2020, in the first phase, said S. Vijay Kumar, art enthusiast and founder of India Pride, that tracks Indian antiques.

ISI Targeting Defence Personnel on Social Media, Army Asks Officers to Change WhatsApp Settings

It suggested that Army officers and their families should change settings of their WhatsApp chats where they can be added to groups only by those people who are present in their contact list.
The advisory has come at a time when recently two Army jawans were virtually honey-trapped by Pakistani virtual spies who chat and interact with Indian defence personnel over social media applications to gain classified information.
