India is the Only Country with Highest Crew Change in the World

Ministry of Shipping has facilitated more than 1,00,000 crew change on Indian ports and through charter flights. It is the highest number of crew changes in the world. Crew change consists of replacing one of the ship’s crew members with another one and involves sign-on the ships and sign-off the ships procedures.

Atmanirbhar Bharat: Thailand Just Ordered 600 Made-In-India Tata Military Trucks For Its Army

The Thai ambassador to India lauded India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by announces the purchase of 600 Tata motors military trucks. Chutintorn Sam Gongsakdi tweeted saying, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat: The Royal Thai Army is in the process of completing its purchase of over 600 TATA LPTA military trucks…They are rugged & easy to maintain. Fit for purpose. Fit for service of the nation’.

Include all Eligible Disabled Persons Under the National Food Security Act 2013 : Govt to States/UTs

The Department of Food and Public Distribution under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has sent letters to States Governments/UTs to include all eligible disabled persons under the National Food Security Act 2013. Section 38 of the Act mandates that the Central Government may from time to time give directions to the State Governments for effective implementation if the provisions of the Act.

Central Government Constitutes National Council for Transgender Persons

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 16 of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 (40 of 2019), the Central Government has constituted a National Council for Transgender Persons vide notification dated 21st August, 2020. The Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment will be Chairperson (ex-officio) and Union Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment will be Vice-Chairperson (ex-officio).

Talks on Third Foundational Military Pact with U.S. Soon

The issue of the pending third foundational military pact—Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geo-spatial Cooperation (BECA)—with the United States, which is expected to give a boost to the country’s defence system and counter the Russia-China-Pakistan axis, may come up for discussion during the “US-India 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue” later this year.

This online system can be accessed through Bureau of Indian Standards web portal www.manakonline.in.
