Sports Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launched the Fit India Mobile App on National Sports Day today

To celebrate second anniversary of Fit India Movement and as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launched the Fit India Mobile Application at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi on National Sports Day today. Minister of State, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Nisith Pramanik also graced the event. Secretary, Sports Shri Ravi Mittal and Secretary, Youth Affairs, Smt Usha Sharma were also present on the occasion. Before the launch of Fit India App Launch event, Shri Anurag Thakur first paid floral tributes to magician of hockey, Major Dhyan Chand at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Shri Nisith Pramanik also paid respect.

India to Add 35 More Earthquake Observatories by End of This Year and 100 More by Year 2026: Dr. Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said that India is going to have 35 more earthquake Observatories by end of this year and 100 more such Observatories in next five years. He pointed out that in last six and a half decades since Independence, the country had only 115 Earthquake Observatories but now with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the helm, there is going to be a quantum leap in the number of Earthquake Observatories in the country.

“Hallmarking scheme is turning out to be grand success with more than 1 crore pieces of Jewellery hallmarked in a quick time” – said Director General BIS while addressing a Press Conference on the subject of progress being made in the Hallmarking in India . The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer for phase down of Hydroflurocarbons (HFCs) by India, adopted by the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on October, 2016 at 28th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol held at Kigali, Rwanda.

Cabinet Approves MoU Between Permanent Mission of India to the WTO, Centre for Trade and Investment Law and Centre for Trade and Economic Integration

The collaboration between academicians, practitioners, jurists, policy makers, and students from India, Switzerland and other countries would help create a technical and nuanced understanding of emerging and new areas of international trade and investment law and related disciplines. The MoU will remain in force for three years.
