Bengaluru Startup, HAL Team-Up for Drone Battle

The technology might sound like the stuff of science fiction, except that it is just around the corner, according to Group Captain Harsh Vardan Thakur of HAL’s Flight Operations Unit. He was speaking about the project at a conference organised by the Synergia Foundation in Bengaluru on Saturday. The programme, being run at HAL’s flight testing facilities in Bengaluru and in New Delhi, aspires to develop three distinct classes of drones.

About the structure of the force, a senior ministry officer said, “Unlike other Central armed police forces, the Central Marine Police Force will have it own cadre, rules, manual, Act, infrastructure and would be headed by a Director-General rank officer.” India has a vast coastline of 7,516 km touching 13 states and union territories. It also has around 1,197 islands.

“It is customary for the Navy to gear up for exercises and deployments immediately following the monsoon season, taking advantage of improved conditions at sea. This is the ideal time to fine tune our deployment concepts, test communication plans, exercise contingencies at sea and validate our inputs towards better maritime domain awareness”, the spokesperson added.

Defence Exports to Rise to ₹ 35,000 cr by 2024: Army Chief

“Let me assure you that we are manufacturing weapons and equipment not only to arm our defence forces but we are now gradually becoming an export-oriented defence industry. Our defence exports which range in the figure of Rs 11,000 crore annually, are set to achieve the figure of Rs 35,000 crore approximately by the year 2024,” said Rawat.

Official sources said, “LCA Tejas Mark-II has better serviceability, faster weapon loading time, enhanced survivability, better electronic warfare suit and radar which significantly enhance its capability. It has air to air and air to ground attack capabilities.” Tejas is the first advance fly-by-wire fighter aircraft designed, developed and manufactured in India. Conceived as a MiG-21 replacement, it has been designed and developed by Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and produced by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
