ITBP Establishes 2 New Headquarters to Look After India-China Border

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Thursday issued an order of establishing two command headquarters in Chandigarh and Guwahati. The Chandigarh headquarters will be headed by IG rank official who will work as Additional Director General (ADG) and look after Ladakh, Leh, and Srinagar areas while the Guwahati sector will look after the north-eastern parts.

MoD Discusses Proposed Defence Procurement Guidelines with Industry

Indian Navy Opens its New Base Workshop at Bogda

The new naval base workshop at Bogda in Vasco, which is crucial for minor repairs of warships and other equipment, was opened on Monday, the Indian Navy said.
The Navy used to have its workshop at Baina but in 2017, the ministry of defence agreed to exchange 3,874sqm of defence land with MPT on an equitable cost basis.

IAF Begins Construction of Emergency Landing Airstrip on NH-44 in South Kashmir

The work on the runway has been started on war footing and the 3.5 kilometre long runway will be used an emergency runway facility for fighter jets in case of any emergency. The construction of such an emergency runway will play a vital role in Kashmir as the borders of the country is close to Pakistan and China and in case of any emergency between those countries this air runway will play an important role in providing help to the army and other forces.

Indian Army to Get 156 Additional BMP-2 ICVs

India’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved the procurement of 156 additional licence-built BMP-2 ‘Sarath’ infantry combat vehicles (ICVs) for the Indian Army (IA) from the state-owned Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) for INR11.25 billion (USD148 million).

Jammu and Kashmir: 13 Terrorists Killed Along LoC in Mendhar-Poonch

The Indian army neutralised 13 terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Mendhar-Poonch region on Monday.
While three heavily-armed
terrorists were killed in Rajouri district’s Nowshera sector on Monday morning, 10 more terrorists were killed in an encounter with army troops in Mendhar along the Line of Control in the Jammu division, army officials said.
