Advanced Wound Dressing Material Based on Seaweed Agar can Treat Diabetic Wounds and Manage Chronic Ones at Competitive Cost

An Indian scientist has developed an advanced wound dressing based on agarose, a natural polymer derived from seaweed agar, for the treatment of infected diabetic wounds and patients suffering from chronic wounds. This indigenous dressing will allow cost-effective dressings for chronic wound patients and will also pave the way for business incubation.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi  on August 2nd launched digital payment solution e-RUPI, a cashless and contactless instrument for digital payment. 8,001 Janaushadhi Kendras Opened as on 02.08.2021 Covering All the Districts of the Country

The State Governments/UT Administrations have been requested from time to time to facilitate opening of Janaushadhi Kendras in the premises of Primary Healthcare Centers (PHCs)/Community Health Centers (CHCs)/Hospitals, including super specialty hospitals, by providing rent-free space within their premises. As on 2.8. 2021, about 1,012 Kendras are functioning inside Government’s premises.

Indigenous Aircraft HTT-40 Ready for Operational Clearance

The production will take place at HAL’s two manufacturing units at Bengaluru and Nashik. The RFP has come within six years from the first flight of HAL which is the shortest time-line in the aircraft industry. The trainer will have more than 60 percent indigenous content and is supported by agencies such as Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE) and others.

The Government has taken a number of measures to strengthen coastal, Offshore and maritime security. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the Minister of State for Defence, Ajay Bhatt said that the Navy, Coast Guard and State Marine Police along with other agencies such as Customs and Port Trusts patrol the Maritime Zone of India using surface and air assets to detect and check infiltration.
