Hyderabad-based Kapil Future Tech has showcased its indigenous UAV electronics and Ground Control Station at Drone Expo 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting India’s growing capability in flight control, navigation, power management and mission software for unmanned aerial systems.
The company presented its Made-in-India UAV subsystems at Yashobhoomi during the September 28–30 event. Its portfolio includes flight controllers, GNSS navigation hardware, power modules, current sensors and the KFT Ground Control Station, a software platform designed to help operators plan, monitor and manage UAV missions from a single interface.
KFT Ground Control Station Integrates Mission Operations
The KFT Ground Control Station brings multiple drone-control functions together within one operating environment. It supports mission planning, live drone location, route tracking, flight status, telemetry and live camera feeds.
This type of integrated interface is becoming increasingly important as professional UAV operations grow more complex. Operators often need to monitor several parameters simultaneously while ensuring that the aircraft follows its planned mission safely and efficiently.
By combining these functions in one system, the KFT GCS is intended to give operators a clearer view of the aircraft, mission progress and onboard status throughout the flight.
Mission Planning Supports Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous Flights
Mission planning is one of the core functions of a modern Ground Control Station.
The KFT platform allows operators to define routes and monitor the aircraft as it follows them. This is particularly useful for mapping, agriculture, infrastructure inspection and surveillance missions, where drones often operate along predefined paths.
Route tracking allows the operator to compare the aircraft’s actual movement with the planned mission. Live location information also helps maintain situational awareness during longer flights or missions conducted over large areas.
Real-Time Telemetry Improves Flight Awareness
Telemetry forms another major part of the KFT Ground Control Station.
During a mission, the drone can continuously transmit operational data back to the ground station. Depending on the connected aircraft, this information can include position, altitude, speed, battery condition, flight mode and other system parameters.
Continuous telemetry helps operators identify changes in aircraft behaviour while the mission is still in progress. This becomes particularly important during industrial, agricultural or defence-related operations where mission reliability and aircraft status must be closely monitored.
Live Camera Integration Adds Visual Intelligence
The KFT GCS also supports live camera feeds.
Video integration allows operators to observe the area around the aircraft while simultaneously monitoring flight information. This is useful for inspection, mapping, surveillance and emergency-response missions where visual confirmation is required.
Combining video with telemetry and route tracking gives the operator a more complete picture of the mission rather than treating each data stream separately.
Indigenous Ground Control Software Strengthens the UAV Technology Stack
Ground-control software is one of the most important layers in a drone ecosystem because it acts as the primary interface between the operator and the aircraft.
Domestic development can give Indian UAV manufacturers greater control over integration, customisation and support. It can also make it easier to adapt mission software for different payloads, aircraft configurations and operational requirements.
For specialised applications, this flexibility can be especially valuable because imported ground-control systems may not always provide the level of modification required by Indian manufacturers or institutional users.
KFT FC V7 Targets Industrial and Heavy-Lift Drones
Kapil Future Tech’s product portfolio extends beyond ground-control software.
The company has developed the KFT FC V7 industrial flight controller for multi-role and heavier UAV platforms. The flight controller acts as the central computing system inside the aircraft, processing sensor data, maintaining stability and executing navigation commands.
For professional drones, the reliability of the flight controller directly affects aircraft performance. By developing this system domestically, Kapil Future Tech is building another important layer of India’s UAV electronics ecosystem.
Agri V7 Is Designed for Agricultural Drone Operations
The company has also developed the KFT Agri V7 flight controller for agricultural UAVs.
Agriculture drones operate under different conditions from many conventional platforms because their payload changes continuously during spraying or granular spreading. As liquid or material is released, the aircraft’s weight distribution and total mass can change during the mission.
A purpose-built agriculture flight controller can integrate spraying, spreading and telemetry functions while maintaining stable flight throughout the operation.
This makes the system relevant to India’s expanding agriculture-drone market, where precision spraying and automated crop management are becoming increasingly common.
GNSS Technology Supports Accurate Navigation
Kapil Future Tech also offers indigenous GNSS navigation hardware for UAV applications.
Accurate positioning is essential for route tracking, mapping and autonomous flight. Ground-control software can only display the aircraft’s location accurately if the navigation system provides reliable position data.
The combination of GNSS hardware and KFT GCS therefore creates a direct link between onboard navigation and ground-based mission supervision.
Power Monitoring Completes the Avionics Chain
Power management is another important area in the company’s UAV portfolio.
Kapil Future Tech develops current sensors and power modules that can monitor battery usage during flight. Accurate energy data helps the aircraft and operator estimate remaining endurance and determine whether the drone can safely complete its mission.
For professional UAV operations, power monitoring becomes especially important because payload weight, wind conditions and mission length can all affect battery consumption.
Integrating power data into the wider avionics architecture gives operators better visibility over the aircraft’s energy condition.
DroneCAN Integration Enables Connected UAV Electronics
Several of Kapil Future Tech’s products use DroneCAN, a communication protocol designed for reliable data exchange between UAV components.
DroneCAN can connect flight controllers, navigation systems, power modules and other peripherals through a common network.
A connected avionics architecture can simplify integration while allowing different subsystems to share information in real time.
For drone manufacturers, this can make it easier to build modular aircraft using components designed to work together.
Agriculture, Industrial and Defence Applications Form Key Markets
Kapil Future Tech is targeting multiple UAV sectors rather than a single application.
Agriculture drones require reliable spraying control and navigation. Industrial UAVs need stable flight and accurate telemetry for inspection work. Defence platforms can require additional reliability, customisation and secure mission-control capabilities.
A modular avionics and Ground Control Station ecosystem allows the same underlying technologies to be adapted across these different operational environments.
This approach gives Indian drone manufacturers greater flexibility when developing specialised platforms.
India’s Drone Industry Moves Towards Subsystem Localisation
Kapil Future Tech’s participation at Drone Expo 2026 reflects a broader transformation within India’s drone industry.
Domestic companies are increasingly developing critical subsystems such as flight controllers, GNSS modules, power electronics, mission software and communication systems rather than limiting production to airframes and final assembly.
These technologies determine how effectively a drone flies, navigates, communicates and completes its mission.
Greater localisation at the subsystem level can strengthen domestic engineering capabilities while reducing dependence on imported electronics.
Kapil Future Tech Builds a Broader Indigenous UAV Control Stack
The KFT Ground Control Station is significant because it forms part of a larger integrated UAV ecosystem.
A modern drone depends on several connected layers. Flight controllers manage the aircraft, GNSS modules provide position data, power systems monitor energy usage and ground-control software gives the operator access to the complete mission.
Kapil Future Tech is developing products across these layers rather than concentrating on a single component.
By combining KFT GCS with indigenous flight controllers, navigation systems and power electronics, the Hyderabad company is building a more complete Made-in-India UAV control stack. As drone adoption expands across agriculture, industry and defence, deeper localisation of these critical systems can strengthen India’s domestic drone manufacturing base and provide manufacturers with greater control over integration, support and future development.
