ShepHertz Showcases Made-in-India Sovereign AI Platform for Intelligent Drone Operations

The company has described the platform as capable of supporting perception, navigation, reasoning, agentic action and fleet intelligence. These capabilities form important building blocks for increasingly autonomous drone systems.

Indian technology company ShepHertz Technologies has showcased its AgentAnywhere sovereign AI platform for drone operations at Drone Expo 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting the growing convergence of artificial intelligence, autonomy and unmanned aerial systems in India.

The company demonstrated how AgentAnywhere can be applied to drone missions involving perception, navigation, reasoning, autonomous action and fleet-level coordination. ShepHertz presented the platform at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi during Drone Expo 2026, held from September 28 to 30.

AgentAnywhere Brings AI Directly Into Drone Operations

AgentAnywhere is designed as a sovereign AI platform that can run on infrastructure controlled by the user rather than depending entirely on externally hosted systems.

For drone applications, ShepHertz is exploring how such an architecture can allow unmanned systems to process information, interpret their surroundings, make operational decisions and coordinate with other drones.

The company has described the platform as capable of supporting perception, navigation, reasoning, agentic action and fleet intelligence. These capabilities form important building blocks for increasingly autonomous drone systems.

During the expo, ShepHertz demonstrated how AI can help drones see, navigate, decide and operate together as a coordinated fleet.

Sovereign AI Gives Operators Greater Control Over Data

One of the central features of AgentAnywhere is its sovereign deployment model.

ShepHertz says organisations can deploy the platform on their own infrastructure and within their own jurisdiction, allowing users to determine where data is processed and how AI systems are governed.

This can be particularly relevant in defence, public safety, surveillance and critical infrastructure applications, where sensitive information may need to remain within controlled environments.

The approach also reflects a wider shift towards sovereign AI, where organisations seek greater control over models, data, computing infrastructure and operational decision-making.

Drone Perception Is the First Step Towards Autonomy

Autonomous drone operations depend heavily on the ability of the aircraft to understand its environment.

Perception systems process information from cameras, sensors and other onboard systems to identify terrain, structures, obstacles, vehicles and other objects around the drone.

AI can then help interpret this information in real time.

A drone that can understand its surroundings can potentially respond more effectively to changing conditions without requiring constant human intervention. This is particularly useful during complex missions where communication links may be limited or operators may be supervising several unmanned systems simultaneously.

AI Can Support Navigation and Mission Decisions

Navigation is another area where artificial intelligence can expand drone capabilities.

Traditional unmanned aircraft can follow predetermined flight paths and waypoints. More advanced autonomous systems can modify their routes according to obstacles, environmental conditions or changing mission requirements.

AgentAnywhere is being positioned as a platform capable of adding reasoning and agentic decision-making to this process.

Such capabilities could allow drones to analyse mission conditions and determine appropriate actions within predefined operational rules.

Human operators can remain responsible for overall mission objectives while AI assists with lower-level decisions and continuously changing operational conditions.

Fleet Intelligence Could Enable Coordinated Drone Missions

ShepHertz is also highlighting fleet intelligence as part of its drone-focused AI architecture.

As the number of unmanned systems deployed during a mission increases, managing each aircraft individually becomes increasingly difficult. Fleet-level intelligence can help multiple drones share information, coordinate routes and divide tasks.

This capability is relevant to emerging swarm and multi-drone applications.

Instead of treating every drone as an independent platform, an intelligent fleet architecture allows several unmanned systems to operate as parts of a larger coordinated network.

The technology could eventually support applications ranging from infrastructure inspection and disaster response to surveillance and defence missions.

Edge AI Can Reduce Dependence on Constant Connectivity

ShepHertz’s demonstration also points towards the growing importance of edge AI in drone systems.

Traditional cloud-based artificial intelligence generally requires information to be transmitted to remote data centres for processing. For an aircraft operating in real time, however, delays in communication can affect how quickly the system responds.

Processing AI directly on or near the drone can reduce this dependence.

Onboard or edge processing can allow critical information to be analysed close to where it is generated, enabling faster decisions and reducing the amount of data that must be transmitted continuously.

This becomes especially important for drones operating in areas with weak, disrupted or unavailable network connectivity.

Defence and Surveillance Are Among the Target Applications

ShepHertz has identified defence, surveillance, infrastructure, public safety and autonomous systems as potential areas for its drone AI technology.

In defence applications, autonomous perception and navigation could assist unmanned systems operating in difficult environments. Surveillance platforms could use AI to identify objects or unusual activity within large streams of sensor data.

Infrastructure operators could deploy intelligent drones for inspection of power lines, pipelines, industrial facilities and transportation networks.

Public safety agencies could use similar technologies for disaster assessment, search operations and situational awareness.

The common requirement across these applications is the ability to convert raw sensor information into faster and more useful operational decisions.

AgentAnywhere Extends Beyond the Drone Sector

Although ShepHertz is demonstrating AgentAnywhere for drones, the underlying platform has been developed for a broader range of enterprise and institutional applications.

The company describes AgentAnywhere as an agentic AI platform built for organisations that require greater control over infrastructure, governance and deployment.

Its broader architecture includes AI agents, model management, orchestration, governance tools and sovereign deployment capabilities.

Applying the same platform to unmanned systems demonstrates how enterprise AI technologies can increasingly move beyond conventional software environments and into physical machines.

This convergence between artificial intelligence and robotics is becoming an important area of deep-tech development.

India’s Drone Industry Moves Towards Greater Autonomy

India’s drone ecosystem has expanded rapidly from basic aerial platforms towards more sophisticated systems incorporating indigenous flight controllers, navigation technology, sensors, artificial intelligence and autonomous mission software.

AI is becoming particularly important as drones are expected to perform more complex missions with less direct intervention.

Capabilities such as computer vision, obstacle avoidance, autonomous navigation, object recognition and coordinated fleet operations increasingly determine how effectively a drone can operate in real-world environments.

The emergence of Indian companies working on these technologies can also strengthen domestic capabilities in critical UAV subsystems rather than limiting the industry to airframe assembly.

Sovereign AI Adds a Strategic Layer to Indian Drone Technology

The significance of ShepHertz’s AgentAnywhere demonstration lies in the combination of sovereign artificial intelligence with unmanned systems.

Modern drones increasingly depend on software and AI for mission effectiveness. Control over that software layer can therefore become as important as control over the aircraft hardware itself.

A domestically developed AI platform that can operate on infrastructure controlled by the user offers an additional level of technological independence for sensitive applications.

By demonstrating perception, navigation, reasoning, agentic decision-making and fleet intelligence for unmanned systems, ShepHertz is positioning AgentAnywhere within an emerging generation of Indian drone technologies where autonomy and sovereign computing increasingly work together.

As India’s UAV ecosystem moves towards more capable autonomous platforms, indigenous AI architectures such as AgentAnywhere can contribute to building a deeper domestic technology stack spanning drones, edge computing, mission intelligence and coordinated unmanned operations.
