PM Modi’s address to the nation on June 7 a gamechanger

The improvement in PM Modi’s approval ratings can be attributed to his speech on June 7 in which he made several major announcements.

Addressing the nation, the PM said that the Centre will procure 75 per cent of COVID-19 vaccine doses from manufacturers and supply them to the state governments.

The PM also announced that vaccine for all adults above 18 years of age will be provided free of cost.

To control profiteering by private hospitals, the PM capped the service charge at Rs 150 per jab.

Keeping poor households in mind, the PM said that the free ration for 80 crore beneficiaries would continue till November 2021.

These measures provided respite to the public and also to the States which were struggling to vaccinate the 18-45 age group due to a shortage of COVID-19 vaccines.
