Mangpoo, 02nd November: An international bicycle rally organized by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI Darjeeling) kickstarted from Mangpoo today.
According to HMI Group Captain Jai Kishan, the cycle rally commenced at 8.30 am from Jan Maidan in Mangpoo and will conclude at Tiger Hill via Chatakpur and 3rd Mile. A total of 55 participants from Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Dooars, Siliguri and neighbouring country Nepal participated in the bicycle rally.
While District Military Board Chairman Colonel (Retd) Keshab Rai graced the event as the chief guest, Jamling Norgay Sherpa and Mangapoo Saraswati School Professor Chandrakala Rai started the bicycle rally by waving the green flag.
According to the information, the bicycle rally will reach Tiger Hill by this evening after covering a distance of about 35 kilometres.
