Clean Solar Energy to Light Army’s Highest Battlefield Siachen

Army has decided to electrify the areas of its highest battlefield Siachen with clean solar energy and reduce carbon footprint in pursuit of clean energy vision of the Indian government. The idea was seeded when the President of India Ram Nath Kovind Visited Siachen Infantry Brigade on May 10 2018. “The Supreme Commander directed to explore the feasibility of utilising solar energy to meet the power requirements of our forward posts.” informed a source.

India to Go Ahead with $2.3 Billion Turkish Shipyard Deal

India is going ahead with a $2.3 billion (about Rs 15,000 crore) deal to manufacture fleet support vessels (FSVs) in collaboration with a Turkish shipyard following a review after questions were raised on Turkey’s links with Pakistan and the recent diplomatic tiff with the Recep Tayyip Erdogan government.

BRO Opens Bridge on Teesta River, will Connect North Sikkim with Rest of Country

In June 2019 a massive cloud burst had completely damaged a steel bridge of 180 feet span at the same location and had severed the lines of communication in North District of Sikkim. Ministry of Defence in its release said, “The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) opened for traffic 360 feet long bailey suspension bridge over Teesta River in Munshithang near Chungthang town on Saturday.”

Mini-Dense Forest Being Created at Kochi Navy Base
