India Shells Pak Terror Camp, Ammo Dump to Cause Heavy Damage

The Indian Army said on Friday it had shelled a terrorist launch pad and an ammunition dump across the de facto border in Jammu and Kashmir, shelling Pakistan for allegedly breaking an informal ceasefire between the two countries. India’s junior defence minister told Parliament in March that Pakistan violated the ceasefire at least 646 times between January 1 and February 23 this year. More than 3,200 ceasefire violations were recorded in 2019.

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw- 106th Birth Anniversary

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal and unarguably the most celebrated military general in the history of Independent India. Popularly called as ‘Sam Bahadur,’ the nation on Friday (April 3) remembered his 106th birth anniversary. A recipient of Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan, Manekshaw died in 2008.

Indian Navy Develops Handheld Infrared-Based Temp Sensor for Screening

Navy has indigenously designed and developed a handheld infrared-based temperature sensor for screening personnel at the entry gates of the Naval Dockyard here.
“The instrument has been manufactured under Rs. 1000, through in-house resources (which is a fraction of the cost of the temperature guns in the market),” said Indian Navy in a statement.

HAL Posts Over ₹ 21,100 Crore Turnover in 2019-20

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited recorded a turnover of over Rs 21,100 crore (provisional and unaudited) for the financial year ended on March 31, 2020, up from the previous years figure of Rs19,705 crore. “The company has posted a revenue growth of around seven per cent during 2019-20 for the second year consecutively, post listing as compared to 3.8 per cent during 2017-18,” the Bengaluru-headquartered defence PSU said in a statement.
