Army Chief Inducts Indigenous Specialist Vehicles Into Service

At a function organised at the Bombay Engineer Group (BEG) and Centre on 12 April 2022, the Army Chief inducted the first set of indigenously developed Quick Reaction Fighting Vehicle Medium (QRFV), Infantry Protected Mobility Vehicle (IPMV), Ultra Long Range Observation System developed by Tata Advanced System Limited (TASL) and Monocoque Hull Multi Role Mine Protected Armoured Vehicle developed by Bharat Forge. 

India – Australia Maritime Patrol Reconnaissance Aircraft (Mpra) Coordinated Operations

In recent times, increased interaction between the two maritime nations, through bilateral and multilateral exercises at sea, has enhanced inter-operability and fostered bridges of friendship. The P8 aircraft, with their demonstrated long reach, have operated jointly during Malabar and AUSINDEX series of exercises, and have a common understanding of operating procedures and information sharing.

Banks’ Credit Growth Nearly Doubles in FY22

Total bank credit stood at Rs. 118.9 lakh crore (US$ 1.56 trillion) on March 25, the last reporting Friday for FY22, according to figures issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This is an increase of Rs. 1.8 lakh crore (US$ 23.72 billion) in the last two weeks and Rs. 10.4 lakh crore (US$ 137 billion) in the last financial year, representing a 9.6% YoY increase.

For the First Time in 11 Years, the Number of Domestic Patent Filing Surpasses the Number of International Patent Filing in India

India achieved yet another milestone in context of IP innovation ecosystem, wherein for the first time in the last 11 years, the number of domestic patent filing has surpassed the number of international patent filing at Indian patent office in the Quarter Jan-Mar 2022 i.e. of the total 19796 patent applications filed, 10706 were filed by Indian applicants against 9090 by non-Indian applicants.

Govt Plans Database to Mark Countries with Overstaying Nationals

According to sources, the government is planning to use Artificial Intelligence to analyse this database: the resulting list of countries is expected to help Indian Missions put in place checks while issuing visas to foreign citizens. The Home Ministry’s Foreigners Division, the External Affairs Ministry, and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) are to be involved in the exercise, it is learnt.
