Center to Transfer Money Into the Account of 20 Crore Women; Know How & When You will Get Payment

Amid the nationwide lockdown, the central government has announced various relief packages to decrease the plight of the poor, farmers and workers. Recently, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced ‘PM Garib Kalyan Yojana’ which aimed to offer 1.7 Lakh Crore Package to the poor and needy to fight against the global pandemic COVID-19.

Recently, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced ‘PM Garib Kalyan Yojana’ which aimed to offer 1.7 Lakh Crore Package to the poor and needy to fight against the global pandemic COVID-19. Moreover, the Ministry of Rural Development is releasing the lump sum amount Rs. 500/- per woman to Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) account holders (as per the number of such accounts intimated by banks), for April 2020, and the same has been credited to the designated accounts of individual banks on 2nd April 2020, says official reports.

In order to connect every citizen of the country to the banking system, Prime Minister Modi started Jan Dhan accounts. Their purpose was to bring people in the banking system who had no bank account before. You can open these accounts by reaching any bank branch. These accounts are opened on zero balance and there are many other benefits including accident insurance, overdraft facility, chequebook. In Jan-Dhan Yojana, 53% of the bank accounts opened so far are of women, while 59% of the bank accounts have been opened in rural and urban areas. You get many types of facilities in Jan Dhan accounts. In this, you get an overdraft facility as well as RuPay Debit Card. On this card, you get Accident Insurance free of Rs 1 lakh. If you want to take a chequebook, then you have to keep in mind that you have to always keep some amount in your account. If you do not do this then you may have trouble getting the chequebook.

Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana:

(2) Direct beneficiaries of government schemes can directly transfer funds to Jan Dhan accounts under direct benefit transfer.

(3) After satisfactory operation of accounts for six months, the facility of an overdraft facility is available.

4) An overdraft facility of up to Rs 10,000 will be available in only one account per family, especially for the woman of the family.
The Government will Give 500 Rs Every Month

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has recently announced to add Rs 500 each month to the Jan Dhan account for the next three months with a view to transferring money to the needy during the lockdown in the country. After this announcement by the Finance Minister, about 200 million women of the country will get direct benefits. The first instalment will be deposited in the account holders’ account on 3 April. Prime Minister Modi has announced the dates.

Date of Receipt of Money in PMJDY Account

In those accounts whose last digit is 0 or 1, the government will deposit the amount on April 2, payment will be made to the account holder on April 3. In those accounts whose last digit is 2 or 3, the government will deposit the amount on April 3, the payment to the account holder will be on April 4. In those accounts whose last digit is 4 or 5, the government will deposit the amount on April 4, the payment to the account holder will be on April 7.

In those accounts whose last digit is 6 or 7, the government will deposit the amount on April 5, the payment to the account holder will be on April 8.

In those accounts whose last digit is 8 or 9, the government will deposit the amount on April 6, the payment to the account holder will be on April 9.

Beware of Crowd in Banks, Take These Precautions

The unspent amount given in Prime Minister Jan-Dhan accounts has started to be deposited in the accounts from Thursday. You may face a rushness in different branches of SBI to withdraw the amount. Moreover, policemen and security have been increased at banks and ATMs. Moreover, take care of social distancing if you go to banks. Keep a distance from the bank employees. There is a system of sanitizers in banks, enter the banks only after hand sanitizing them well. Masks must be worn inevitably.
