Sounding Rocket Rohini Launched with New Propellant

The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), earlier this month, launched Rohini Sounding Rocket (RH200) with a new propellant formulation based on Hydroxyl-terminated Polybutadiene (HTPB) from the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) at its Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC).

India’s First Private Cryogenic Rocket Engine Unveiled

After emerging as India’s first private company to have successfully test fired an upper stage rocket engine, Hyderabad-based space-tech startup Skyroot Aerospace has now unveiled the country’s first privately developed, fully indigenous cryogenic rocket engine that runs on cryogenic rocket propellants liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquid oxygen (LOX). The company tweeted this achievement on Friday.

Researchers Devise A New Method to Eschew Stubble Burning

Scientists at Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI) have come up with a solution to tackle the problem. They have developed PUSA Decomposer, which are in the form of capsules made by extracting fungi strains that help the paddy straw to decompose at a much faster rate than usual. “The fungi used has to be amylolytic and ligninolytic that can produce the essential enzymes for the degradation process.
