Apollo Hospitals in Pact with US Firm to Launch Healthcare Drones

Concept of launching healthcare drone was introduced by the Apollo Hospitals and Zipline at an international conference which was organised in Hyderabad, where the state secretary of Telangana for industries, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Dr. Sangita Reddy and top executives of Zipline were present at the event.

India Launches Global Cancer Care Network, 11 Nations Want to Join in

K N Vyas, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) secretary and Atomic Energy Commission chairman, after launching the global cancer care network in Vienna on Tuesday on the sidelines of 63rd General conference of IAEA, said, “I am happy to announce that India is launching “NCG-Vishwam Cancer Care Connect”(NCG-Vishwam 3C). Vishwam is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘universal’ or ‘global’. Through this connect, we shall join hands with all interested partner countries in our fight against cancer.”

Government of Maharashtra, Zipline and SII Announce India’s First Autonomous Instant Drone Delivery Service

The revolutionary new service, which is expected to launch operations in early 2020, is part of Government of Maharashtra’s bold vision of using drone delivery to establish universal, seven-days-a-week access to lifesaving and critical medicines for each of its 120 million citizens over the coming years. Zipline drones will make on-demand and emergency deliveries of blood products, vaccines and life-saving medications.

The move is in line with the government’s digital India motto. Prime Minister Narendra Modi too had last week at a Yoga Awards ceremony emphasised on the need to create a homogenous system by setting up ‘AYUSH Grid’ on the lines of one nation, one tax and one nation, one mobility card.

India to Get 75 New Medical Colleges in Next 3 Years, Centre to Spend INR 24,375 Crore on Them

Continuing the focus on the creation of health care infrastructure, the Central Government had earlier approved to establish 58 new medical colleges attached with existing district/referral hospitals under Phase-I and 24 under Phase-II. Of this, 39 medical colleges under Phase-I, have already started functioning, while the remaining 19 would be made functional by 2020-21. Under Phase-II, 18 new medical colleges have been approved.
