India continues to report high number of recoveries. The recovered cases have exceeded the new confirmed again during the past 24 hours. With this, India’s Recovery Rate has leaped past 83% today.

The government-run KEM Hospital here on Saturday will administer, as part of human trial, Oxford University’s Covishield vaccine for coronavirus to three persons, said hospital Dean Dr Hemant Deshmukh.
“We have screened 13 persons so far including 10 today, of which three will get the first shot of Oxford University-AstraZeneca developed Covishield vaccine on Saturday,” he said.

The inauguration will be done through a digital event. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary Ministry of AYUSH will also participate in the program.

A major decline in fresh cases of novel coronavirus was recorded in the last 24 hours as newly detected cases came down to 75, 083. This is the fifth consecutive day when cases are found to be reducing from 97, 894 on September 17. Union Health Secretary Mr Rajesh Bhushan said that the decline in fresh cases has nothing to do with lesser testings.

Commenting on this partnership, Dr Shekhar C. Mande, Director General, CSIR, said “Joining of hands of premier CSIR labs with industry for the development of vaccines will amplify India’s efforts in indigenous vaccine development and also help in preparedness for future pandemics”.

As on 15th September 2020 the number of stores has increased to 6606.

The Government has taken many steps to promote research in Ayurveda to develop treatment of cancer. The Government has set-up Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) as an autonomous organization, with the mandate to undertake research in Ayurvedic healthcare services.

India has reported the highest number of total recoveries with more than 42 lakh (42,08,431) COVID patients recovered and discharged. India now accounts for close to 19% of the total global recoveries. This has strongly pushed the national Recovery Rate to nearly 80% (79.28%).
