NHAI to Make Network Survey Vehicle Use Mandatory for Road Condition Survey

In line with its commitment to provide better roads to commuters, NHAI has decided to deploy Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) to enhance quality of the National Highways. Carrying out road condition survey using NSV on the National Highways has been made mandatory at the time of certifying completion of the project and every six months thereafter. The provision has also been included as a part of the standard bidding document of consultancy services.

Tata Power commissions India’s Largest Natural Ester Filled Power Transformer in Mumbai Transmission Network

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated company is committed towards ensuring safety and sustainability for its stakeholders, environment and the community. In line with this commitment, Tata Power has announced the commissioning of India’s largest natural ester filled 110 /33 / 22 kV, 125 MVA power transformer in the Mumbai Transmission network at the BKC receiving station in active collaboration with ABB and Cargill.

Railways Complete the Arch Closure of the Iconic Chenab Bridge, World’s Highest Railway Bridge

This achievement is a major leap towards the completion of the 111 k.m. long winding stretch from Katra to Banihal. It is arguably the biggest civil-engineering challenge faced by any railway project in India in recent history. The 5.6-metre last piece of metal was fitted at the highest point today and joined the two arms of the arch that currently stretch towards each other from both the banks of the river.

Sources said in recent years the Indian Railways’ import component of manufacturing parts have reduced steadily and now it’s around 1.6% of total value of items. They said efforts have been undertaken to reduce this share of imports further and some of the last few remaining items like wheels and axles are now going to be fully manufactured in India.
