The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has given its approval for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of India and the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) of United Kingdom Government on cooperation in the field of Telecommunications/Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi was apprised of signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC) and the GRANTECAN, S.A. (GTC), Spain to develop scientific and technical collaborations in astronomy field.

CDF Kenya – Week Long Visit to India

India- US Reunited Once Again to Create the World’s Most Expensive Earth Imaging Satellite

The Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite being developed by the US Space Agency NASA and the Indian Space Agency ISRO is expected to be launched in the year 2022. This will be the first such radar imaging satellite in the world to use two frequencies simultaneously. Not only this, it will also be the world’s most expensive Earth Imaging Satellite. In this sense, it will also be special in many ways. The countries had reached an agreement in 2014 for this joint mission.

Indian Agencies Get A BECA Boost

The geospatial information, which BECA will generate for Indian agencies, will be useful both against China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and against the state-supported terror groups functioning from inside Pakistan. It will also lead to training of Indian officials at the US National Geospatial Intelligence College.
