Two years after its announcement, the Defence Cyber Agency is now operational under the purview of the Ministry of Defence as per a written reply by the Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt in the Lok Sabha on August 4, 2021. Raksha Mantri Mr. Rajnath Singh flagged-in a climb-a-thon organised by Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), Darjeeling to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, in New Delhi on August 17, 2021. Indian navy Guided Missile Stealth Frigate INS Trikand arrived at Doha for the 2nd edition of the Bilateral Maritime Exercise Za’ir Al Bahr (Roar of the Sea), being conducted from August 9 to 14, 2021 between the Indian Navy and Qatar Amiri Naval Forces. The Ship was received by the representatives from the Qatar Amiri Navy with ceremonial band in presence.
The ministry of defence (MoD) plans to equip the Indian Army with 114 ‘Dhanush’ guns. Each ‘Dhanush’ costs Rs 14.50 crore. After initial field trials in 2016, six of these towed artillery guns were handed to the Army in 2019 at the Gun Carriage Factory in Jabalpur. But subsequently the Army sought modifications which are now being carried out by the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB).

Sources in the defence and security establishment said the trials of three K9 Vajra, which were sent to Ladakh earlier this year, have been successful.Plans are now being finalised to order at least two more regiments of the 155mm/52 calibre howitzers that would be deployed in the mountains.
In the first go, of the two IBGs planned one is coming up under the 9 Corps mandated to operate on the Western Borders with Pakistan. The other one is being raised under the 17 Corps raised as the sole strike Corps to operate along the Northern borders with China. The aim is to firm up two IBGs by September end.
