Amid the charged atmosphere along the border, the Indian Army is looking forward to the infantry combat vehicles (ICVs) manufactured at the Ordnance Factory Medak (OFM) in Telangana.
The OFM will start supplying 156 upgraded ICVs to the Army from next financial year with work at the factory going on at a frenetic pace. The ICVs are different from main battle tanks (MBTs), in role and onboard weapons. These vehicles can be deployed as light tanks, command or recon vehicles, weapons carrier or an ambulance.

Realising danger to the lives of the Chinese citizens which included two men and one woman in sub zero temperatures, the soldiers of Indian Army immediately reached out and provided medical assistance including oxygen, food and warm clothes to protect them from the vagaries of extreme altitude and harsh climatic conditions.

India and Russia have finalised a major deal for manufacturing AK-47 203 rifles in India during defence minister Rajnath Singh’s ongoing visit here, the official Russian media reported on Thursday.
The AK-47 203 is the latest and most advanced version of the AK-47 rifle, which will replace the Indian Small Arms System (INSAS) 5.56×45 mm assault rifle.

Bengaluru-headquartered defence PSU Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) has received an order from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for supply of 330 High Mobility Vehicles for Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers at an approximate cost of Rs 842 crore.

The Indian Navy will be represented by guided missile destroyer Ranvijay, indigenous frigate Sahyadri and fleet tanker Shakti, along with their integral helicopters.Sahyadri has been presently redeployed to provide assistance to MT New Diamond, which has caught fire off the coast of Sri Lanka.

Indian Army has captured Pangong North Finger 4 Ridge area of the Pangong lake along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh and along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and established its positions in the region. This is for the first time since early June, Indian Army and Special Frontier Force (SFF) mounted rapid mission to take position at Finger 4 heights. The Finger 4 feature on the north bank of Pangong Tso lake and is located close to Chinese posts which are just few hundred meters from Indian positions.

The idea was set in motion last year with a plan to utilise the advent of new technologies in textile and fabric which will not only make uniforms look good and be comfortable in varying temperatures and humid locations but would also be able to bear the needs of soldiers serving in rough conditions.
