The tallest statue of Swami Vivekananda has been unveiled in the premises of Naturopathy and Yoga Hospital of Divine Park foundation. The statue that was unveiled on February 1st is 35 feet tall and resembles the one in Kanyakumari but is taller. The statue was unveiled by H R Nagendra, chancellor of Jigani-based Swami Vivekananda Yoga University.

As part of the project, a ‘Yogabana’ has also come up at the premises. The statue will promote tourism and ‘Yogabana’ will provide an opportunity to the visitors and devotees to know more about the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and his teachings. Divine Park has approached Guinness Records for recognition.

Head of Divine Park Dr Chandrashekar Udupa has told that the statue represents Swami Vivekananda’s concept of ‘potential divinity of the soul’ and gives a new and ennobling concept of theology. A glance of the statue offers purity, patience, and perseverance to the onlookers. It is in the midst of greenery and fertile agricultural land. Along with the posture of serenity, the statue is backed by peace, silence, and signs of care, safety and security, he said.

The statue is sculpted by ace sculptor Sridhar Murthy and team who have sculpted many huge and beautiful statues. The same team had sculpted the tallest Lord Shiva statue in Murudeshwara and the 111-foot-tall Basavanna statue in Gadag. Around 40 artisans have worked relentlessly on the statue for about six months to complete the statue, say the authorities of Divine Park. They also informed that a metal mixture has been used to paint the statue which will protect it from heavy rain, wind and withstand harsh climatic conditions.
