During ship visits such as this one, US sailors work to enhance US and Indian military cooperation by conducting professional exchanges and sharing naval experiences with their counterparts.

This ship visit, one of a series of port calls by US navy vessels in Visakhapatnam over the past year, is aimed to enhance growing defence collaboration between the US and India. During the ship’s stay at Visakhapatnam, professional interaction and cross visits are planned for exchange of knowledge and sharing best practices among personnel from both navies.
“This region of India is a hub for US-India partnership and innovation, from US-India defence industry cooperation in Hyderabad to military-to-military partnership activities like this one on the coast of AP. The US military works alongside India to increase interoperability, build partner capacity, prevent conflict and promote regional strength and peace throughout the Indo-Pacific,” said consul general Reifman.
