Unicommerce, an e-commerce-focused supply chain software-as-a-service platform, claims to handle over 1 million daily transactions with a gross merchandise value (GMV) of more than US$ 5 billion each year.
It aims to bring on over 2,000 brands in the current financial year, up from over 1,500 currently, in sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods, beauty and personal care, health and pharma, agriculture, home decor, nutraceuticals, fashion, and electronics, among others, to expand the company’s brand portfolio.
The firm has announced that it will grow its workforce by 60% in the coming fiscal year to meet its expansion goals. Unicommerce, which now employs over 240 people, plans to hire over 150 more employees by the end of FY22.
“While the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has had an undeniable negative impact on companies across sectors, it has given our company a boost, with brands of all sizes confirming their commitment to improving their online presence. This resulted in a significant need for e-commerce-specific supply chain solutions that are strong and tech-driven. We’ve been able to meet this increased demand thanks to our sector-agnostic, one-stop platform, which has helped us expand our business significantly. Our tremendous growth is a testament to our excellent product range, and we have become a favoured option of firms moving direct-to-commerce and omnichannel. This demonstrates that we are on the right route, and we will continue to grow our business in India and beyond,” said Unicommerce CEO Mr. Kapil Makhija.
Unicommerce handles over 6,000 warehouses across India and processes 20% of the country’s e-commerce business. Marico, GoMechanic, Enamor, MPL Sports, House of Anita Dongre, Netmeds, Mamaearth, mCaffeine, and many others are among its main clientele.
In the Middle East and Southeast Asia, the firm has been able to expand its client base, and it will continue to do so in the coming months. To keep the momentum going, Unicommerce will employ regional expertise in international markets.
More than 150 partners, including marketplaces, logistics providers, and enterprise resource planning systems, are linked with the Unicommerce platform. Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Lazada, Noon, Shopify, Magento, Delhivery, FedEx, Blue Dart, DTDC, Ginesys, Logic, and Tally are few of Unicommerce’s key platform partners.
