According to the ‘Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers’ (SIAM), passenger vehicle sales in India increased by 17.92% YoY, to 2,81,380 units in February 2021 compared to February 2020. In February 2020, passenger vehicle wholesales stood at 2,38,622 units.
As per SIAM, in February 2021, two-wheeler dispatches to dealers increased by 10.2% to 14,26,865 units, up from 12,94,787 units in February 2020.
Motorcycle sales increased by 11.47% YoY, to 9,10,323 units in February 2021, up from 8,16,679 in February 2020.
Scooter sales increased by 10.9% to 4,64,744 units in February 2021, up from 4,22,168 units in February 2020.
Three-wheeler sales stood at 27,331 units in February 2021.
Total vehicle sales increased by 10.21% to 17,35,584 units in February 2021, up from 15,74,764 units in February 2020.
Indian key players such as Maruti Suzuki India (MSI), registered sales of 1,44,761 units in February 2021, increased by 8.27% YoY, Hyundai Motor India reported an increase of 28.97% in dispatches at 51,600 units (February 2021).
