The 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Israel is an excellent opportunity to look ahead and shape the next 30 years of relations, according to the Israeli envoy here, who expressed optimism that the two countries’ close cooperation in various fields will only strengthen in the future years.
India’s envoy to Israel Naor Gilon made the remarks at a ceremony to unveil a commemorative logo commemorating the 30th anniversary of the two countries diplomatic relations. The design incorporates the Star of David and the Ashoka Chakra, two symbols found on both countries’ national flags, to form the number 30, symbolising the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations.
According to a statement issued by the Israel Embassy here, this distinctive logo symbolises the deep friendship, love, and admiration that exists between the people of Israel and the people of India. It also reflects the two countries’ expanding strategic alliance.
India and Israel are two ancient people, proud of their cultural heritage, and two vibrant democracies, eager to grasp the future, he said. “Together we can shape a better future for India, Israel, and the world,” Singla said.
Last year, both countries held a logo design contest for students from famous design institutes in Israel and India to produce the 30th-anniversary logo. Holon Institute of Technology in Israel and the National Institute of Design in India were both invited to submit entries. This competition drew a large number of Israeli and Indian students.
On January 29, 1992, Israel and India established diplomatic ties. Since then, the two countries bilateral relations have evolved into complex strategic relationships. According to the statement, Israel and India have a close and special relationship that spans nearly every field of human endeavour, including health and innovation, agriculture and water, trade and economic activities, science and technology, research and development, defence and homeland security, art and culture, tourism, and space.
The 30th anniversary of Israel-India relations will be commemorated with a year-long series of cultural events, according to the statement.
