The Indian Army has set up a free of cost GSM-based PCO for the villagers of Mago-Chuna in distant areas of East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Indian Army has set up a free of cost GSM-based PCO for the villagers of Mago-Chuna in distant areas of East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh.

Earlier, the remote areas of Mago-Chuna had no communication facility as the nearest telephone connectivity was available 28 km away.

The facility has brought lots of joy to the villagers.

The Eastern Command of the Indian Army on its Twitter handle said: “#IndianArmy established free GSM based PCO facility for the remote villages in Mago-Chuna on 18 Sep 20 in East Kameng district of #ArunachalPradesh. Overwhelmed villagers expressed gratitude towards Indian Army.”

“The inaccessibility severely hampered the social life and overall progress of the area,” stated Guwahati-based defence PRO Lt Col P Khongsai.

“Availability of this facility has brought joy and also opened new avenues of prosperity and opportunity.
