The foreign delegates include colonel Bret Paul Chaloner from the Australian army, colonel Sain Ahmed from the Nigerian army, colonel MyoHtut Win from Myanmar and captain MD Hassan TariqueMondal from the Bangladesh Navy.
The delegation also comprises 1998-batch Rajasthan cadre Indian police service officer PonugumatiRamjee, 1998-batch Indian revenue service officer Banita Devi Naorem, brigadier Satish Dahiya, air commodore S Dutta, brigadier V Parida, brigadier Sanjeev Kumar, brigadier Yogesh Chaudhary, brigadier B S Sakhon, commodore Subir Mukherjee, and brigadier Ajay Kumar. The team met the chief secretary, who briefed them about the overall situation in the state. They also met deputy commissioner Jammu.
On January 29, the team will visit Vaishno Devi shrine, where interaction is planned with representatives of the Shri Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, a source said.
“On January 30, the team would go to Srinagar where inspector general of police, Kashmir range, would brief them on the overall security scenario in the Valley. They may also meet some local leaders, and heads of NGOs,” a source said.
“For next two days thereafter, the high-powered team will visit Gulmarg and Sonamarg, where they will interact with tour guides, pony-owners’ associations, officials at primary health centers and representatives of local administration,” the source said. “The team will return to New Delhi on February 2,” the source said.
