French software company Dassault Systemes today inaugurated a new ‘3DEXPERIENCE’ Executive Centre, to showcase software platform and applications to its customers such as Royal Enfield and Ashok Leyland — with real-time visibility throughout the product development cycle, right from the design to the end result. It also announced that Royal Enfield has enhanced design and product development with the Dassault Systemes simulation applications.
Sylvain Laurent, Executive Vice-President and Member of Executive Committee, Dassault Systemes, told newspersons that today it is not about ‘Make in India’, but ‘Create in India’, and the digital world can improve the real world.
Simulation today powers innovation, and this experience centre will offer Dassault’s expertise and solutions to help customers digitally re-invent their approach not only to advanced product development and manufacturing but also how the business is run as a whole, said Laurent.
Samsonn Khaou, Managing Director, Dassault Systemes India, said Chennai was the fifth location after the company’s headquarters in France, Munich, Boston, and Shanghai, to host the experience centre which will showcase the latest in simulation — critical for OEMs and suppliers to innovate new products, design and systems at a much faster pace.
Simulation technology
Real-time simulation of vehicle, parts and components is critical in reducing time to market and cost of testing on physical prototypes, he said.
Rob Giles, Lead CAE & CAD, Royal Enfield, said the company has been using Dassault Systemes’ SIMULIA applications for over five years to perform realistic simulation, before any prototyping is done in product innovation, development and manufacturing processes.
