Central Public Works Department Invites Bids for Construction of New Parliament Building

The pre-qualification bid submitted will be opened on 14 July 2020.The Central Public Works Department has invited bids for construction of a new parliament building at Plot No 118, Parliament House Estate, New Delhi.

The work is estimated to cost Rs 889 crore. The completion period for the project is 21 months.

The site of work is adjacent to the existing Parliament House Complex. The proposed new building will be a reinforced cement concreteframe structure. The plinth will match with the plinth of the existing building which is approximately 1.8 mtr above ground level.

The total plinth area of the proposed building is approximately 65,000 sq mtr, including the basement area of approximately 16,921 sq mtr. The building will be ground plus two-storey with one basement.

The work includes construction of civil structure, MEP services, digital communication system, sub-station, security systems, furniture, interiors and landscaping. It also involves stone masonry, stone carving, woodwork, fresco and art work.

The maintenance of the building and operation and maintenance of electrical equipment for a period of five years from the date of completion of the work will also be a part of contract for construction.

The pre-qualification bid submitted will be opened on 14 July 2020.

The government will provide free of cost land to the contractor for establishing labour camp, batching plant, fabrication yard, laboratory, storage yard, etc within Delhi NCR area.

Also, arrangements are required to be made by the contractor for certification of at least 50 percent of skilled workers and training of at least 40 percent of unskilled workers.
