MoU Between India and Japan for Academic and Research Cooperation and Exchange

The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, is apprised of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Dept of Space, Government of India and Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH), Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan for Academic and Research Cooperation and Exchange on November 4, 2020 and November 11, 2020 at respective institutes and exchanged by post.

ISRO to Establish ‘Space Technology Incubation Center’ at NIT Rourkela

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to establish a ‘Space Technology Incubation Center’ (S-TIC) at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela to carry out research and product development in space technology and applications. This Centre will enable start-ups to build applications and products that could be used in future space missions.

New Collaboration to Launch India-UK Dual Doctoral Programme

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and The University of Manchester announced the launch of a dual award PhD programme. This will serve to consolidate and build on existing research collaborations across a number of thematic areas including environmental geochemistry, biomaterials and Industry 4.0. Students will be jointly recruited and spend time in both Manchester and Kharagpur, benefiting from the expertise, facilities and infrastructure of the two globally renowned institutions, said a statement from IIT Kharagpur.

IIT-Madras Launches New Programme to Boost Women Leadership

Named ‘Women Leading IITM’ (WLI), the programme will make grants every year to accelerate the careers of women technologists and provide a supportive environment for women to thrive at IIT Madras. The aim is to help accelerate efforts to improve the number of women students, faculty, staff and creating opportunities for success.
