Highlights of New Education Policy-2020

The NEP 2020 has been finalised after detailed consultation process with all stakeholders including State/UT Governments. This Ministry has communicated to all States/UT Governments for implementation of NEP 2020 in letter and spirit. Ministry of Education is also organising ‘ShikshakParv’ from 8th September to 25th September, 2020 to deliberate on various themes and implementation of NEP 2020 aimed at eliciting suggestions.Ministry has also organised a Conference of Governors on “Role of National Education Policy in Transforming Higher Education”.

E-Foundation Stone Laid for National Training Academy for Rural Self Employment Training Institutes

E-Foundation stone laying ceremony of the new training Institute building of National Academy of RUDSETI (NAR) was held yesterday. The NAR undertakes monitoring, mentoring and capacity building of the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes staff (585 RSETIs are spread across 566 districts of the country), State/UT Rural Livelihood Mission staff and the concerned Bank officials on behalf of the Ministry of Rural Development.

Government of India to Develop an AVGC Centre for Excellence with IIT Bombay

The Government of India plans to develop an AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comic sector) Centre for Excellence along with the Industrial Design Centre of IIT Bombay. “The Centre will provide a place where different technologies, developments in the field of animation, gaming will be brought to one place. It will also train the thought leaders in the field of AVGC,” Amit Khare, secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said. The centre is likely to come off the ground in the next one-two years.

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh Launches Mobile App for NCC Training

In view of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, training of NCC cadets has been affected adversely as it is mostly contact based training. Since schools/colleges are not likely to open in near future, a need was felt that training to NCC cadets should be imparted utilising the digital medium. Raksha Mantri also interacted with the NCC cadets via video conferencing during the launch of the App and also answered their questions. He wished them success and motivated them to excel in all spheres of life.
