Setback for China as India Makes Random Sampling of Imported LED Products Mandatory

In yet another setback for China, the Government of India has made the random sampling of all imported light-emitting diodes (LED) and control gears for LED products mandatory. According to a new notification issued by the Director-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), now all LED products being imported from other countries will be subjected to stringent quality tests.

Gujarat: Another Flamingo City in the Making?

Gujarat forest department officials said the new site is about 35 km from Flamingo City and merely 30 km from the Pakistan border. Principal chief conservator of forest (PCCF) Shyamal Tikadar said the site has been put under surveillance.
“Nearly one lakh nests are reported at the site which is located in the area with highly restricted movement. Entry here is facilitated only with permission from the Border Security Force (BSF),” he said.

NHAI Launches ‘Harit Path’ A Mobile App to Monitor Plantation Along National Highways

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, has developed a mobile App called ‘Harit Path’ to monitor location, growth, species details, maintenance activities, targets and achievements of each of its field units for each and every plant under all plantation projects. The app was inaugurated by the Union Minister for RTH Shri Nitin Gadkari today.
