Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) on Wednesday said its first indigenously-made oil drilling rig has started operation at Kalol oil fields in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The rig, which became operational on Wednesday, is part of an order worth Rs 6,000 crore for 47 drilling rigs.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy’s proposal for implementation of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme ‘National Programme on High Efficiency Solar PV (Photo Voltic) Modules’ for achieving manufacturing capacity of Giga Watt (GW) scale in high efficiency solar PV modules with an outlay of Rs.4,500 crore.

Taking another important step towards the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods (Air Conditioners and LED Lights) with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 6,238 crore.
Accordingly, the inflow rose to $72.12 billion during April to January, 2021, 15 per cent higher as compared to the first ten months of 2019-20, when it stood at $62.72 billion.

India’s biggest floating solar power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatt is expected to become operational in Telangana next month. The project has been set up by the energy conglomerate National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) in the reservoir of its thermal power plant at Ramagundam, Peddapalli district.
