In a bid to provide connectivity, the Northeast Frontier Railways (NFR), has started laying tracks to connect the capital cities of Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland which is to be completed by March 2023, top railway officials said.

Indian Railways is all set to a lay a railway line of 327 kilometres, connecting Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath of Char Dham, via Dehradun and Karanprayag in the state of Uttarakhand.
78 new routes under the 4th round of Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)- UdeDesh Ka AamNagrik (UDAN) have been approved following the three successful rounds of bidding by the Ministry of Civil Aviation. This will further enhance the connectivity to remote and regional areas of the country. The North Eastern Region, Hilly States and Islands have been given priority in the approval process for the new routes.
In order to achieve its objective of becoming 100% self sustainable for all it’s power needs and also to contribute to national solar power goals, Indian Railways organized wide ranging discussions with key stake holders under the chairmanship of Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal.
“Keran got electricity around Independence Day and now in the second phase electricity has reached Machil villages also.Soon, we would be providing electricity to remaining difficult areas too,” Principal Secretary (Power- J&K) Rohit Kansal told NDTV adding that their aim is to provide connectivity to all border areas by next year.

India’s national security planners are pushing hard to complete an all-weather strategic route to Ladakh that will link Darcha in Himachal Pradesh to Nimu via Padum in Kargil’s Zanskar valley, people familiar with the matter said. Nimu is 35 kilometres from Leh town and headquarters of XIV Corps responsible for the defence of East Ladakh and Siachen Glacier.
