JanJal Water on Wheels – Safe Drinking Water for Rural India

Securing the daily dose of potable water for drinking and cooking for every household can be a challenge in large parts of India. The source of water is often found at significant distances away from habitations, especially in rural areas. To deliver safe drinking water at peoples’ doorsteps,JanaJal WOW (Water on Wheels), an IoT-based proprietary technology solution three-wheeler developed by Noida-based JanaJal has been recommended by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. It is one of five technologies to deliver the $50 Billion drinking water scheme under the National Jal Jeevan Mission.

India Plans ‘Ease of Doing Science Index’ for High Value Research

In a bid to bring scientific research in India at par with the global standards, the union government is working on a new playbook for a coordinated high impact research funding. As part of this plan, it is working on developing an ‘Ease of Doing Science Index’ to ensure effective use of both disbursed funds (including flexibility of fund utilisation) and the researchers’ time to weed out sub-standard research.

Government Announces Liberalised Guidelines for Geo-Spatial Data

The Government has announced liberalised guidelines for geo-spatial data. Giving details of the liberalised guidelines at a media briefing in New Delhi on Monday, the Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan today said that by liberalizing the geo-spatial guidelines, the government has taken a historic decision that will lead to a One Lakh Crore Rupees Geo-Spatial economy.

MoU with Japan on Training of Skilled Workers
