Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal Visits Location of Groundbreaking for World’s First Global Centre for Traditional Medicine

Union Minister of Ayush Shri Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday visited the site in Jamnagar where the groundbreaking of the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine is going to be organized on 19th April. Secretary Ministry of Ayush Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha also accompanied with the minister. Two weeks ago, the Ministry of Ayush had signed the host Country Agreement with World Health Organization (WHO) for establishing the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in India.

‘Indian Antarctic Bill’ Introduced in Lok Sabha

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; Minister of State PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh on Friday introduced a Bill in Parliament to provide for national measures for protecting the environment of Antarctic and dependent and associated ecosystem and to give effect to the Antarctic Treaty, the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources and Protocol on the Environmental Protection to the Antarctic Treaty.

India Sends Over 270,000 MT of Petrol, Diesel to Sri Lanka Under Credit Line

India has sent about 270,000 MT of petrol and diesel to Sri Lanka to help alleviate the country’s power crisis, which is occurring in the midst of the country’s worst economic crisis in decades. Last week, the High Commissioner of India handed over a shipment of 40,000 MT of diesel to Sri Lanka’s Energy Minister Mr. Gamini Lokuge, with the help of an Indian line of credit worth US$ 500 million.

Centre Approves Setting Up of National Land Monetization Corp

According to an official release, NLMC would be a government-owned business with an initial authorised share capital of Rs. 5,000 crore (US$ 652.75 million) and a paid-up share capital of Rs. 150 crores (US$ 19.58 million), and its board of directors will include senior central government employees and distinguished specialists.
