S Jaishankar Meets Croatian PM; Discusses Bilateral Ties

External affairs minister S Jaishankar on 3rd September 21 met Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic and discussed opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation, including in pharma, digital and infrastructure.
Jaishankar thanked Plenkovic for receiving him at Zagreb and said that they also discussed “pressing global issues”, including the situation in Afghanistan.

India, UK Sign Up to New Climate Finance Initiative

The Indian and UK governments on Thursday agreed a new tie-up to finance inclusive, resilient and sustainable infrastructure in India by harnessing public and private capital to meet the country’s low-carbon goals.
Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI) India initiative, which is backed by the City of London Corporation and led by Bloomberg’s CFLI, was announced at the 11th UK-India Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) held via video conference between finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her British counterpart Rishi Sunak.

Medicinal Plants to be Cultivated on 75-Thousand-Hectares of Land in the Country

The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH has launched a national campaign to promote cultivation of medicinal plants in the country as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. This will help in increasing the income of farmers and realize the dream of Green India. Under this campaign, cultivation of medicinal plants will be done on 75,000 hectares of land in the next one year across the country. The program has been started from Saharanpur in UP and Pune in Maharashtra. This program is second in the series of programs being organized by the Ministry of Ayush under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

Snow Leopard Declared New State Animal in Ladakh

The government of Ladakh has declared snow leopard its state animal and black-necked crane state bird. A notification in this regard was issued Tuesday by the Principal Secretary Forest, Ecology and Environment, Pawan Kotwal. “The Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh is pleased to declare snow leopard (Panther unica) and black–necked crane (Grus nicricollis) as state animal and state bird, respectively, of the union rerritory of Ladakh from the date of issue of this notification,” Kotwal said in a notification.

Ins Airavat Arrives At Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam With Covid Relief Supplies

As part of the ongoing Mission SAGAR, INS Airavat arrived at Ho Chi Minh City Port in Vietnam with COVID Relief Material on 30 August 2021. The ship is carrying 100 Metric Tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen in 05 ISO Containers and 300 Oxygen Concentrators of 10 LPM capacity each based on the requirement projected by the Government of Vietnam in its fight against the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.

Web Version of e-GOPALA App Unveiled to Aid Dairy Farmers

The web version of e-GOPALA application developed by National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has been launched on Saturday to aid dairy farmers. The NDDB has launched the web version of e-GOPALA application and IMAP web portal on Saturday which provides real-time information to dairy farmers for better productivity of dairy animals, a statement said.

To celebrate second anniversary of Fit India Movement and as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur launched the Fit India Mobile Application at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi on National Sports Day today. Minister of State, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Nisith Pramanik also graced the event. Secretary, Sports Shri Ravi Mittal and Secretary, Youth Affairs, Smt Usha Sharma were also present on the occasion. Before the launch of Fit India App Launch event, Shri Anurag Thakur first paid floral tributes to magician of hockey, Major Dhyan Chand at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Shri Nisith Pramanik also paid respect.
