Terrorist Threats Emanating from Afghanistan, Afghan Humanitarian Crisis Focus of Delhi Dialogue of NSAs

Security chiefs of India, Russia, Iran and five Central Asian countries on Wednesday deliberated here on the way forward in Afghanistan on how to tackle the terrorist threats emanating from that country and to help the Afghan people tide over the huge humanitarian crisis, as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said that the developments in Afghanistan have important implications not only for the people of that country but also for its neighbours and the region.

India & US hold 11th Defence Technology & Trade Initiative Group Meeting Virtually

The 11thDefence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group meeting between India and the United States (US) was held virtually on November 09, 2021. DRDO & Directorate of Defence R&D, Israel Sign Bilateral Innovation Agreement for Development of Dual Use Technologies

 As a tangible demonstration of the growing Indo–Israeli technological cooperation, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Directorate of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D), Ministry of Defence, Israel have entered into a Bilateral Innovation Agreement (BIA) to promote innovation and accelerated R&D in startups and MSMEs of both countries for the development of dual use technologies. The agreement was signed between and Secretary, Department of Defence, R&D & Chairman DRDO Dr G Satheesh Reddy and Head of DDR&D, Israel BG (Retd) Dr Daniel Gold in New Delhi on November 09, 2021.

Centre Amends the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011 for Enhanced Protection of Consumer Rights

To safeguard interest of consumers, the Department of Consumer Affairs under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has omitted the Rule 5 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities), Rules 2011 defining the Schedule II prescribing the pack sizes of various types of commodities. A new provision has been introduced to indicate the unit sale price on pre packed commodities, which will allow easier comparison of the prices of the commodities at the time of purchase.
