DAC, Headed by Shri Rajnath Singh Approves RFP for Construction of Six Submarines at Approx Cost of INR 43,000 Crore

This is a landmark approval, being the first case processed under the Strategic Partnership model. This would be one of the largest ‘Make in India’ projects and will serve to facilitate faster and more significant absorption of technology and create a tiered industrial ecosystem for submarine construction in India. From a strategic perspective, this will help reduce current dependence on imports and gradually ensure greater self-reliance and dependability of supplies from indigenous sources.

The global RFI (request for information) specifies the Army expects induction of the FRCVs by 2030 under the “strategic partnership” route with “comprehensive” technology transfer, including detailed design manufacturing know-how, to the Indian partner. The FRCVs will remain in service for the next 40-50 years as the Indian Army’s main battle tank, it says.

He was commissioned in December 1983 into 81 Armoured Regiment, a Regiment raised by his late father.

MoD Notifies ‘Second Positive Indigenisation List’ of 108 Items to Promote Self-Reliance & Defence Exports

The second list (enclosed) lays special focus on weapons/systems which are currently under development/trials and are likely to translate into firm orders in the future. Like the first list, import substitution of ammunition which is a recurring requirement has been given special focus. NSA Doval Commissions Indian Coast Guard’s Ship Sajag

According to the official statement by ICG, Sajag, the third in the series of 105 m offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) was commissioned by Ajit Doval, Kirti Chakra, National Security Advisor on May 29 in the presence of Dr Ajay Kumar, Defence Secretary and Director General Krishnaswamy Natarajan, PVSM, PTM, TM, Director General Indian Coast Guard and other senior dignitaries of the central and state government.

India Army Deployed K-9 Vajra Guns on India-China Border in Ladakh

India has deployed its K-9 vajra guns in eastern Ladakh amid ongoing tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The army’s Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) northern command shared the photos with the co-army chief on Friday. State that the co-army chief, Lt Gen C P Mohanty, is in Ladakh for three days these days.
