Made in India: Indian Soldiers Get Light Weight Bullet Proof Helmets

The Indian Army soldiers are now protected against AK-47 bullet strikes with the new `Made in India’ Bullet Proof Helmets. The new helmets were the first major contract for modern composite helmets placed under Make in India initiative, and the contract between Kanpur based MKU Ltd and the Ministry of Defence was signed during the tenure of the then defence minister Late Manohar Parrikkar in 2016. The contract was for 1, 58.279 Bullet Proof Helmets (BPH).

Japan Keen on Exercise with IAF Sukhoi Fighters

It would have been the first such training venture between the two countries, which have held drills involving warships, land-based forces and transport aircraft of their air forces. The fighter exercise, proposed to be held in mid-2020, would have involved the Indian Air Force deploying its Russian-designed Su-30MKI fighters to the Komatsu air base to train with the US-designed F-15J fighters operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

Delivery of S-400 System on Schedule, Says Russia

India and Russia have signed defence deals worth $15 billion in the past three years with big-ticket purchases such as the S-400 missile system, said Viktor N Kladov, director for international cooperation and regional policy, Rostec, a state-owned Russian defence and industrial group.
