Major Road Projects Launched in Ladakh to be Constructed by BRO

On a landmark day for the Union Territory of Ladakh and its people, construction on 05 major road infrastructure development projects was launched by His Excellency the Governor of Ladakh Shri Radha Krishna Mathur, from Turtuk, the northernmost village of India. The ground breaking ceremony was also attended by the Chief Executive Councillor, Leh Mr TashiGyalson, MP Ladakh Mr Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, Defence Secretary Mr Ajay Kumar and Director General Border Roads Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry besides overwhelming villagers from nearby areas.

BrahMos Gets 200th Set of Airframes for Supersonic Cruise Missile

Each airframe of the BrahMos missile consists of 138 complicated sub-assemblies that are manufactured from more than 1,500 parts. The BrahMos missile is a stealth universal supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from ships, submarines, aircraft, and land-based platforms. It can be used for a precision strike to destroy targets on land and sea.

Looking into the need of the Indian Army for an Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Squadron, to improve its integral lift capability ensuring its operational preparedness, the DAC accorded approval of procurement of 25 ALH Mark III helicopters from M/s HAL under Buy Indian-IDDM at an approx. cost of Rs.3,850 cr,in keeping with the continued thrust towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’.
