Army Gets 26 New Chopper Pilots

An impressive valedictory function was held at Basic Flying Training School (BFTS) at Air Force Station, Bamrauli, to mark the successful completion of flying training of 26 army aviators of the 208 Army Pilots Course on Saturday.

DRDO & Indian Air Force Successfully Flight-Test Indigenous Stand-Off Anti-Tank Missile

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Air Force (IAF) flight-tested the indigenously designed and developed Helicopter launched Stand-off Anti-tank (SANT) Missile from Pokhran ranges on December 11, 2021. The flight-test was successful in meeting all its mission objectives. The release mechanism, advanced guidance and tracking algorithms, all avionics with integrated software, performed satisfactorily and tracking systems monitored all mission events. The missile is equipped with a state-of-the-art MMW seeker which provides high precision strike capability from a safe distance. The weapon can neutralise targets in a range up to 10 kms. 

Successful Tests Carried Out for Pinaka Extended Range System, Area Denial Munitions & New Indigenous Fuzes

Successful tests of Pinaka Extended Range (Pinaka-ER), Area Denial Munitions (ADM) and indigenously developed fuzes have been carried out at various test ranges. The Pinaka-ER Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher System was successfully tested at Pokharan range. The system is jointly designed by laboratories of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) – Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune.

INS Sudarshini Deployment To Gulf Countries To Enhance Foreign Training Cooperation

 Indian Navy’s Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini visited Port Sultan Qaboos, Muscat, Oman on 05 Dec 21 for a three day Operational Turn Round (OTR). The ship is part of the 1st Training Squadron based at Kochi which provides ab-initio sea experience to sea trainees of the Indian Navy. The ship is on a deployment to the Middle East aimed at strengthening ‘Bridges of Friendship’ with Friendly Foreign Countries in the region as also reach out to the Indian diaspora settled in the Gulf. 

Lockheed Nod for F-16 Wings in India – Make in India

The US firm today formally recognised TLMAL as a potential co-producer of F-16 wings. The facility has the capacity to make 50 pairs of wings a year, Lockheed Martin officials said. A ceremonial event marking the first fighter wing prototype built at the TLMAL facility here was attended by KT Rama Rao, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Telangana.

Air Version of BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile Successfully Test-Fired from Sukhoi 30 MK-I Off Odisha Coast

Air version of BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test fired from the supersonic fighter aircraft Sukhoi 30 MK-I at 1030 hrs from Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha on December 08, 2021. In this copy book flight, the missile launched from the aircraft followed the pre-planned trajectory meeting all mission objectives.
