Vikram Misri – Newly Appointed Deputy NSA

Vikram Misri, an expert on China’s issue and former Indian Ambassador to Beijing was today appointed as the Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) in the National Security Council Secretariat. Misri, a 1989 batch IPS officer will succeed Pankaj Saran.

The Multi-terrain Artillery Gun is a one of its kind 155-mm, 39-calibre gun system mounted on 4×4 high mobility vehicle (HMV) in the world. The vehicle weighs 18 tonnes and has the capability to be deployed even in mountain regions. The gun system is equipped with shoot and scoot capability, providing advanced technical performance and high integration.

IED Expert Among 4 Terrorists Killed in South Kashmir

An IED expert of a banned outfit was among four terrorists killed in south Kashmir on Saturday—two at Hardumir village in Awantipora of Tral in Pulwama district and another two in Chowgam, Shopian. This took the number of terrorists killed in the past two days in south Kashmir to five.

Mission Sagar

As part of yet another deployment undertaken by Indian Navy since May 2020 under Mission SAGAR, Indian Naval Ship Kesari entered Port of Maputo, Mozambique on 25 December 2021. This is the eighth such deployment in consonance with the Hon’ble Prime Ministers vision of Security And Growth for All in the Region and is being conducted in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, and other agencies of the Government of India.

Raksha Mantri Lays Foundation Stone for Defence Technology & Test Centre and BRAHMOS Manufacturing Centre of DRDO in Lucknow

The BRAHMOS Manufacturing Centre, announced by BrahMos Aerospace, is a modern, state-of-art facility in the Lucknow node of UP DIC. It will cover over 200 acres and produce the new BRAHMOS-NG (Next Generation) variant, which carries forward the lineage of the BRAHMOS weapons system. This new centre would be ready over the next two to three years and will commence production at a rate of 80-100 BRAHMOS-NG missiles per year. 

INS Sudarshini Deployment To Gulf Region – Sambandh

Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini, was deployed to the Gulf as part of Indian Navy’s endeavour to enhance maritime cooperation with the friendly navies in the region. During the month-long deployment, the ship made port calls at Muscat, Dubai and Bandar Abbas and had professional interactions with Royal Oman Navy (RNO), UAE Navy and Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Navy.
