AK-47, Chinese Pistols, Grenades Recovered in J-K’s Baramulla

One AK-47, five Chinese pistols with magazines, 24 grenades and other warlike stores were recovered during a search operation launched on Wednesday along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rampur Sector of Baramulla district, the Indian Army said. The search operation was launched in Hathlanga, Rampur Sector after security forces received input regarding likely weapon drop along the Line of Control ahead of Anti Infiltration Obstacle System (AIOS).

IAF to Get HAMMER Missiles

Amid simmering border tension with China, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has decided to further boost the capabilities of its Rafael combat fighters, which are set to arrive from France soon, by equipping them with the deadly HAMMER missiles. HAMMER (Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range) is a medium-range air-to-ground weapon designed and manufactured for the French Air Force and Navy initially.

Govt Sanctions Permanent Commission to Women Officers in Indian Army

The order specifies grant of PC to Short Service Commissioned (SSC) Women Officers in all ten streams of the Indian Army i.e Army Air Defence (AAD), Signals, Engineers, Army Aviation, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), Army Service Corps (ASC), Army Ordnance Corps (AOC), and Intelligence Corps in addition to the existing streams of Judge and Advocate General (JAG) and Army Educational Corps (AEC).

DRDO’s ‘Bharat’ Drones for Indian Army for Accurate Surveillance Along China Border

Amid the ongoing boundary dispute between India and China, DRDO has provided its indigenously-developed drone named Bharat to the Indian Army for carrying out accurate surveillance in high altitude areas and mountainous terrain along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh. “The Indian Army requires drones for accurate surveillance in the ongoing dispute in the Eastern Ladakh area. For this requirement, the DRDO has provided the Bharat drones to it,” defence sources told ANI here.

Four Sub-Killer P-8I Craft Coming to India Next Year, then Talks for Six More

India’s long-range anti-submarine, reconnaissance, surveillance and electronic jamming capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region are going to get a further boost with the induction of four more P-8I multi-mission aircraft from the US next year. India has the option of buying another six from Boeing to be negotiated later in 2021, people familiar with the developments in New Delhi and Seattle said.
