NEW DELHI: Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to visit India in the second week of January, according to government sources. This will be his first visit to India since assuming office earlier this year.

Apart from visiting Delhi, Deuba is also likely to participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
Deuba had last met his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Glasgow last month on the sidelines of the COP26 summit.

The two had then discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation including in the context of ongoing efforts against the Covid-19 pandemic. They had also noted the “excellent cooperation” between India and Nepal during the pandemic particularly through the supply of vaccines, medicines and medical equipment from India to Nepal as well as by ensuring the free flow of goods across the borders. Besides Modi, Deuba will be meeting some other senior Indian politicians, according to Nepal media reports.
