Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is exploring opportunities to take Aadhar global by collaborating with foreign countries and international organisations, as per a top official. This is part of building digital identity systems across the globe and UIDAI is working with the World Bank and United Nations to take it to other countries.
In a recent panel discussion at the inFinity forum, Mr. Saurab Garg, CEO, UIDAI mentioned, the authority is also exploring emerging technology to enhance security and increase the number of transactions that can be done using Aadhar. He also added that 99.5% of the population in India now has Aadhar and 50 million authentication is done daily for verifying transactions.
When asked about the technology upgradation Mr. Saurab Garg said that “We want to look at quantum computing on how to strengthen security and we are looking at artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).”
